Our verdict on the SPX3000 4.1

The Sun Joe SPX3000 is a great choice for a home pressure washer. It comes with 5 different quick connect nozzles, it has nice large wheels and it has ample pressure for cleaning patios, siding and cars. It’s definitely worth the price.

Pressure 4.2

Since this is a pressure washer the number one question on your mind is probably something along the lines of “does this machine deliver enough pressure for what I need?”.

At 2030 PSI, it’s one of the most powerful electric pressure washers at this price range. It has ample pressure for all your common outdoor cleaning tasks such as caked-on mud on walls, years of dirt on your siding or those old moldy patio stones.

It may not always achieve the 2030 psi advertised, but it comes close. It’s even a great option for washing your car, truck or van.

Water flow capacity 3.5

For a compact and affordable pressure washer the SPX3000 really delivers. It has a max flow capacity of 1.76 GPM (gallons per minute) and that’s a ton of water. You won’t have any issues with the flow rate from this machine.

The only feature we think limits the flow a bit is the location of the hose attachment. Sun Joe has placed this at the front of the machine and it can get in your way a bit there.

It might not directly affect the flow, but it will slow you down as you struggle to move it around. If this was placed on the side it would eliminate this problem.

Build quality 4.0

It’s great that this washer lives up to its billing in terms of water flow and pressure, but is it built to last. For a pressure washer priced under $200, the SPX3000 is surprisingly well built.

It is mostly plastic, but it’s a durable plastic that will provide you with years of reliable use as long as you take care of it.

We recommend storing it somewhere warm for the winter as we find plastic tools like this Sun Joe do tend to crack when exposed to freeze thaw conditions.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the nozzles can rust if you don’t take care of them. As long as you wipe away any moisture after each use, you should be able to keep the rust at bay.

We should also mention that the hose hanger is a little underwhelming – it will hold the hose, but it’s a bit awkward.

Features 4.8

The range of features you get with the SPX3000 are pretty impressive. We think the Total Stop System is one of the best additions – it shuts the motor off automatically any time you release the trigger helping to extend its life.

But there are several other features that make this machine stand out. Here are the standout features of this washer:

  • powerful 14.5 amp motor
  • total stop system
  • dual detergent tanks
  • GFCI protection built-in
  • 34-inch extension wand
  • 20-foot long pressure hose
  • 35-foot power cord
  • wheels
  • full 2-year warranty

Accessories 4.2

On top of the great features we’ve already mentioned, we were also impressed with the accessories that come with this washer.

It has five quick connect nozzles that allow you to quickly adjust the pressure and intensity of the spray for different types of jobs.

It also comes with a garden hose adaptor that fits any common garden hose and it ships with a needle clean-out tool so you can keep your nozzle tips free of debris.

Compared to other pressure washers

When we compared the Sun Joe SPX3000 to the competition it held up well. We looked at a competitor that was slightly cheaper and one that was a bit more expensive. It held its own in both scenarios.

Sun Joe SPX3000 vs. Craftsmen CMEPW1900

The Craftsmen CMEPW1900 was a bit more affordable than the Sun Joe, but it doesn’t have as much punch at just 1900 psi. It’s also limited to 1.2 GPM and it only ships with three spray nozzles. The SPX3000 is clearly a much better choice for just a few more dollars.

Sun Joe SPX3000 vs. Greenworks GPW2006

On the other end of the price scale is the Greenworks GPW2006. It usually retails around the $200 mark and it’s a highly capable machine. It provides comparable pressure, but it still underperforms the SPX3000 when it comes to GPM at just 1.2. This one comes with four quick connect nozzle tips compared to the Sun Joe’s five.

Who is the Sun Joe SPX3000 best suited for?

You won’t get enough power from the Sun Joe SPX3000 for industrial use, but it more than holds its own for any task you have for it around the home.

It’s the perfect pressure washer for homeowners for all their spring tasks such as cleaning off patio stones, siding, walls and getting rid of all that winter build up on your car.

We feel this Sun Joe pressure washer would be a great addition to any home.
