When it came to choosing a color, I went with a forever favorite—yellow! I knew it would add some citrus-y brightness to the space and it tied into a few other accents while complementing the other shades in both the living room and kitchen. And why not mix it up with a bold print? To get some tropical cabana vibes, I chose Sunbrella Canopy Stripe in Lemon/White. Stripes are always a classic, but the width in this pattern gave them a little extra oomph!
I seriously wouldn’t even consider a completely upholstered piece like this for dining if it wasn’t made with Sunbrella fabric! It’s designed for maximum durability and comfort, which means it’s stain resistant, and easy-to-clean, if I ever accidentally get a little crazy with the pasta sauce or red wine.
Once the custom banquette was complete, I got to do my styling thing! A cushion here, art there, and some florals to finish off the table top and our new dining area was complete. It’s extra cozy, but it actually really completed the space! And the best part? Now we have our own little bistro inside to read with a little coffee or tea, or enjoy an intimate meal. I’m so grateful to Sunbrella for giving me the chance to customize yet another space and make our New Orleans home so much more functional and gorge.
