It is with great pleasure that The Australian Institute of Horticulture have presented landscape architect Peter Donegan with the inaugural AIH Green Space International Art in Horticulture award.
Presented to Garden Designer Peter Donegan MSGD by AshWalker and Clarence Slockee on behalf of The Australian Institute of Horticulture Inc. at A Moment In Time, the show garden Donegan designed at Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show 2024, constructed by Semken Landscaping Pty Ltd.
To quote President Alan Burrell, “From your Bamstone Show Garden last year to ‘A Moment in Time’ at this year’s MIFGS.
AIH has had the privilege over the last 12 months to get to know the designer, the poet, the story teller but more importantly the man behind these gardens.
This show garden fits all of the criteria AIH set out when judging for this award. Pure genius and AIH could not ask for a better garden to be the first to receive this very prestigious International award.
A Moment in Time presented by Daisy’s Garden Supplies has been awarded the People’s Choice Award for the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2024.
Designed by Peter Donegan and built by Semken Landscaping this garden to raise awareness to the 100,000+ people who walk through these gates and we thank every single person who has resonated with this story and taken the time to vote for us.
The gardens intention is to highlight the struggles some may face when returning to civilian life post service in our armed forces. We have been honoured over the past four days to hear the stories of veterans and their families and we thank all of those who have served, past or present. May a safe and secure retirement await you and we hope you find your own moment in time in a place that brings you peace.
